When the brown UPS truck pulled up to my house, I felt simultaneously the greatest rush of excitement and relief that I have experienced in a long time. In 2023, I published the first addition of The Knights: Lost in the Void and set out on the road to the unknown. After a few book events with little interest being shown to my book, I was pretty discouraged. But I wouldn’t give up.
I took my book on the road to anime conventions, and success would soon follow. I still remember how great I felt at that first convention, when people came up to me and were excited to read my book. I had found my audience!
It wasn’t long before people were messaging me wanting to talk about the book, and I took everything in. About 6 months after the first tour, I decided to start working on the second book: The Knights Lost Stories. From day 1, this second book in the trilogy was everything to me. With all of the introductory moments completed in book 1, I could now dive deeply into the psyche of our characters, while adding more action, and more things to contemplate.
And now we get to today, the first 100 physicals copies of The Knights: Lost Stories just arrived at my house this morning, and my heart is singing. If you are going to be at the Albany Anime Fest this Sunday, June 21st, you will be the first people able to buy this incredible book. If not, The Knights: Lost in the Void Second Addition and The Knights: Lost Stories should be available online on the same day. I will post a link on the newsletter as soon as its live.
With my own father passing away over a decade ago now, I feel its extremely fitting that The Knights Lost Stories will be available for the first time on Father’s Day. I know he would have loved to read it. So this Father’s day, this book is a gift to me and all of the readers who have been anxiously awaiting it’s release.
